Textiles observe, they are the Silent Watchers, offering Insight, Connection and Beauty.

This Pilgrim wall hanging was made for an exhibition in Totnes, Devon, that celebrated Alchemy and the journey of the Artist in December 2021.

Black Welsh Mountain Wool, golden linen thread, and colours made from fermented and unfermented Madder root, Autumnal Copper Beech leaves and Wild Harvested Silks create a creature of Mystery.

This Piece was made as a homage to Slow Craft, and the never-to-be-made-again nature of Hand Spinning, Hand Weaving and Natural Dye techniques.

A single bone hangs from the centre of the piece. I believe it to be a Rib bone from a long gone Sheep up in the wilds of Dartmoor. And as Wool has been key to our evolution, with the precious sheep of these lands keeping our Ancestors warm and dry for millennia, I feel this piece to be a totem of these Sacred Crafts.
