Alongside my in-person workshops I offer online tuition and craft mentorship. My approach is rooted in transferring practical and technical skills along side the symbolic and mystical nature of the Craft.
Threads that can be woven into our time together:
• Spinning tuition: Hand spindle or wheel
• Weaving tuition: Hand loom or rigid heddle weaving
• Naturally Dying: How to make colour from plants, and imbue the properties of medicinal herbs into cloth
• Cultuvating a ritual Craft practise
• Practices to imbue symbolism and meaning into your Work
• Mytho-poetic approaches to these Crafts through writing exercises, poetry and story
The humble Drop Spindle is a perfect introductory tool into the world of Hand spinning and Weaving. This beautiful and effective way to make thread has been utilised for thousands upon thousands of years.
It is a true ancestral skill, handed down by generations across human history and throughout the globe.
Our sessions are organically formed and inspired by your dreams and aspirations.
I love to teach hand spinning techniques, and have taught many students online and in person for over 6 years.
This is an effective and simple way for you to receive tuition from home, wherever you are in the World. I'm happy to teach beginners or spinners wanting advice with their technique and guidance along their weaving and spinning journeys.
If you are drawn to Weaving, we can work with one of the wooden looms from the Weavers kit or your own other style of Loom. We can go through the technicalities of warping and beginning to weave, and cover basic shape making. Weaving is a craft rooted in old magic and takes us all on our own unique journey.
