Womb Wrap Weaving: A Four-Part Online Journey (Recorded Series)

This course is now offered as a self-paced recorded journey. Upon joining, you will receive access to all session recordings, available for 6 months.

Cloth as Kin • Embodiment as Rebellion • Ancestral CraftWarp and weft.

We spin dreams into form,

anchor life into thread,

and create landscapes of beauty, listening, and belonging.Through this journey, we weave spirals of hope—

textiles that become places of warmth, healing, and sanctuary.

Cloth that calls us Home.

That calls us Here.

That calls us Now.

After seven years apprenticed to the Rigid Heddle Loom, and four years guiding others in the creation of Womb Wraps, I’m honoured to offer this four-part recorded series.

This is an invitation into the ritual and rhythm of warping and weaving—a sacred, self-paced container where cloth becomes story, sanctuary, and soul expression.

Whether you are a seasoned weaver or touching thread for the first time, this work is open to all—across life stages, wombed or not, menstruating or post-menopausal.

What You’ll Explore

This offering braids together practical skill and symbolic meaning, guiding you to cultivate a personal, embodied relationship with the loom, the lower cauldron, and the sacred act of making.

Across four recorded sessions, you’ll be guided through:

  • Grounding, embodiment, and visualisation practices
  • Ceremonial warping and thread magic
  • Symbolism in cloth and ritual craft
  • Storytelling, poetry, and spinning lore
  • Guidance for weaving with the Rigid Heddle Loom
  • Introduction to drop spindle spinning
  • The four seasons of birthing cloth
  • Suggestions for natural and medicinal dye techniques
  • Reflection prompts and integration practices

You are invited to move through the recordings at your own rhythm, allowing time for integration, creativity, and deep listening between each stage of the process.

The Journey

Each session forms part of a cohesive arc, supporting you from beginning to completion of your woven piece:

Session One: Ritual Warping

An initiation into the loom as ally, altar, and teacher. You’ll be guided through grounding practices and a ceremonial approach to warping, exploring warp as structure, intention, and spine.

Session Two: Spinning Spells

A descent into the fluid realm of fibre. This session explores the alchemy of twist, drop spindle techniques, fibre preparation, and the energetic and ancestral dimensions of spinning and natural dye.

Session Three: Weaving the Cloth

A hands-on exploration of weaving as breath and expression. You’ll be guided through rhythm, tension, selvedges, and symbolic patterning as you begin to bring your cloth to life.

Session Four: Birthing the Cloth

A completion and integration. Learn how to finish and release your cloth from the loom, with guidance on washing, fulling, and final touches, alongside reflective practices to honour what has been woven within and without.

Materials You Will Need

  • A Rigid Heddle Loom (any size)
  • A Drop Spindle
  • Yarn for warping and weaving
  • Fibre for spinning
  • Warping tools (typically included in a Rigid Heddle kit)

While a rigid heddle loom is encouraged for its ease and versatility, you are welcome to work with whatever weaving tools you have. The process can be adapted to suit your materials.

Small handwoven panels can also be stitched together with intention to form a cohesive womb wrap—your cloth will still carry the magic of presence, time, and breath.

If you need support sourcing materials, you are welcome to reach out.

With devotion, joy, and threads of ancestral memory,

I look forward to being part of your weaving journey.

With blessings,

Rose
