Eye of the Storm
A hand-spun and handwoven one-off Wrap to cradle you in the warmth of the deep earth and you surround you in the power of the Storm. This piece continues my creative conversation with the elements and is a direct response to my blanket 'Storm' that was made during my Autumn 2020 collection.
Pictured here alongside dappled wet stone and within an ancient Tor that sits at the head of the Dartmoor valley I live in- this shawl is one of deep alchemy and elemental strength.
Made using a luxuriously soft combination of Black, Grey and Brown baby Alpaca fleeces, wild harvested Muga silk, British Texel and BFL wools held together within a cotton and linen warp. It is warming, comforting and hard wearing.
'Eye of the Storm' has been woven as a homage to great transition and transformation. It is the first piece I have made under my year long focus of 'Weavings for transformation; a homage to change' that aims to create work in response to a changing world.
