This Shawl was made in reverence to the liminal edges of this precious island- the place where Selkie's gather on a moon lit shore and dance and sing and no doubt roar…
This Wrap was created to honour the moon and her wise cycles, the way the light meets the water and illuminates the divine beauty of the Great Mystery. May it cocoon its custodian in warmth, softness and protection.
This piece was hand spun and hand woven by me this Summer, and merges a blend of local Devon fleece, Shetland and Gotland Wools, a linen and cotton silvery warp thread and wild harvested Muga and Penduncle silk.
It's approximately 59cm wide and 215cm long.
